Day Camp In The Park is now scheduling private tours for the spring! DCITP is proud to have served Rockland, Westchester, Manhattan, Bergen and Orange County, and their surrounding areas for over 45 years, while being the only day camp near you able to boast the following:

- We are about twenty to thirty minutes from your neighborhood, offering door-to-door pickup and drop-off on air conditioned buses every single day,

- Have the only outdoor heated swimming pool of any day camp in the area so that morning instruction is never too cold,

- Have our very own inflatable waterpark for sunny days and arcade for rainy days,

- Are located on a 1000-acre nature preserve right on beautiful 4-mile Lake Tiorati for exploration, swimming, and boating,

- Are entirely staffed by certified teachers, Red Cross lifeguards, and counselors who grew up at camp themselves,

- Our founder Ken Glotzer literally wrote the guidebook on what makes a camp right for your child! Here is an excerpt from the Forward to “There is No Place Like Camp!” And he’s right!

Did you know that our founder Ken Glotzer literally wrote the book on the importance of summer camp for children, and how best to decide on which camp is the right fit? How about that he and DCITP created the only college Masters’ program geared towards Camp Administration and Supervision? We think that makes us pretty singular.

We just felt like bragging a little.

We’re taking “New Year, New Me” to heart! So to prepare for Summer 2025 we’re hard at work renovating and redesigning all of our cabins and bathrooms! Here’s a sneak peak at some progress for 4/5K and 9G (which we’re dubbing our first camp “art museum”).

This year we are hosting our very first DCITP pumpkin carving competiton! You have until next Tuesday, October 29th to submit up to two pumpkins - just by dm’ing a picture of your creation straight to our Instagram account.

Winners of each category will be determined by a vote from our account followers, and our “Best Overall” submission will receive some DCITP merch!
